How old are the players?
Players are between 12 and 17 years old. In 2020, the birth years are 2007-2003

How much does it cost to play?
Registration for the Bantam House League in 2019 is $300.

How long is your season? How many games do you play?
League workouts/evaluations/draft and exhibition games begin at the end of April, regular season begins part way through May.

In 2017 each team played 3 exhibition games, approximately 15 regular season games, + guaranteed 2 playoff games. Playoffs typically begin the week after labour day. Practices are 1 hour in length on most Saturdays.

Do you provide any equipment?
Each team has their own basic set of equipment. This includes a set of bats, 2 sets of catchers equipment, batting helmets and baseballs. We also provide each player with a hat, undershirt, and the use of a jersey for the season. Players must provide their own grey pants, fielder's glove, athletic support/cup and baseball spikes.

Where are games played?
All games are played at Jack Wilson field in High Park in Toronto, Ontario, which is the largest of the 3 baseball diamonds located by the pool.

How many teams are there? Do I have to "try out?"
In 2017 we had 4 teams, Teal, Red, Blue and Green. There are approximately 13 players on each team. We will add teams to accommodate any extra players, we do not turn players away regardless of skill level or experience.

Do the coaches have any training?
All of our coaches have either played or coached AAA OBA baseball or equivalent level Women's baseball or have their NCCP coaching certificate, or are Alumni of High Park Baseball. Beginning in 2018 all coaches will be required to complete a Level 1 NCCP coaches training course.

When are games/practices?
Most games take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30pm with warm up beginning at 7pm; the odd game takes place Saturday afternoons.

Games usually finish around 9:30pm; any inning beginning after 90 minutes is the final inning.

Practices are 1 hour in length on Saturdays between 1 and 4pm.

I've never played baseball before/I used to/still play rep baseball, can I play?
ALL PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE! We firmly believe that the older and more skilled players in our league have a positive influence on the younger and less experienced players. The age range in our league is very similar to Toronto High School baseball, which many of our players also participate in.

What bats can I use?
Players turning 15 or older will use wood or wood composite bats only. Wood composite bats include wood bats with fibreglass sheathing and wood barreled bats with composite handles. Wood composite bats do NOT include any bat that has any metallic component. 14U players may use aluminum, wood or wood composite bats. Aluminum bats with a weight different of -5 or less. A legal bat diametre shall be the maximum of the barrel of 2 + 3/4"

Whats the highest level of baseball you offer?
Players interested in playing at a higher level of competition may be interested in the Select team(s). Depending on the teams performance there is a possibility of entering Select Ontario provincial play-downs. Players are expected to maintain attendance at House League games.
